The victory was the club’s seventh consecutive London derby triumph, their second longest run of victories in capital contests.Tottenham’s biggest run is eight, which they recorded between October 1950 and August 1951, under the legendary Arthur Rowe.Sadly for Spurs, though, the longest run of consecutive London derby wins is held by fierce rivals Arsenal, who won nine in a row between April 1988 and February 1989, helping them on the way to the First Division title.

Most consecutive London derby wins in the top flight

  1. Arsenal – Nine games – April 1988 to February 1989
  2. Tottenham – Eight games – October 1950 to August 1951
  3. Chelsea – Eight games – April 2005 to January 2006
  4. Arsenal – Seven games – August 2007 to January 2008
  5. Tottenham – Seven games – February 2018 to present
Mauricio Pochettino’s men, however, can make it eight – equalling their current record – on Sunday against Arsenal. If they do triumph, then they have the chance to equal Arsenal’s overall record in their clash against Fulham at Craven Cottage on January 20.
