Looks like some at Southampton have not forgotten Harry Redknapp’s act of treachery.As the former football manager prepares to enter the jungle for ITV reality show, I’m a Celebrity, the Premier League club posted this light-hearted dig at him on Twitter.It said: ‘Careful Harry doesn’t leave you halfway through to join BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.’

It’s in reference to one of football’s great soap operas, which saw Redknapp leave his position as Southampton manager midway through the 2005/06 season to re-join the club’s bitter rivals Portsmouth.The 71-year-old resigned on 3 December, 2005 and was appointed to the Fratton Park hot seat on 7 December – ayear after Redknapp had originally quit Portsmouth for the Southampton job!He could not keep Saints in the top division and when he returned to Pompey, fans hailed him as ‘agent Redknapp’ for his part in their rivals’ downfall.2
