Jose Mourinho: Former Chelsea and Manchester United manager says some of his players would call him ‘a b******’

He was asked to reveal his biggest strengths and flaws – ‘a terrible loser and horrible to those whose motivation does not match my own’ – and explain why the fictional club he was interviewing for should hire him.One of the questions put to Mourinho was: “How would your players describe you in one word?”.Clearly accepting of his, ahem… less than stellar, reputation, Mourinho replied: “That depends. Some of them… Some of them would say ‘a bastard’.”Watch the whole interview with Mourinho below, courtesy of DAZN…Despite his success, Mourinho remains one of the more divisive figures in world football. He has won 25 major honours with clubs throughout Portugal, England, Italy and Spain, including three Premier League titles and two European Cups.Nonetheless, he has long been criticised for espousing negative football, while the 56-year-old has allegedly clashed with many of his players. The latest bust-up came during his final months in charge of Man United, with Paul Pogba the target of almost constant criticism.

Mourinho stripped the France midfielder of United’s vice-captaincy, and is reported to have branded Pogba a ‘virus’ during a dressing room row.Rumours of a bust-up were renewed when Mourinho was sacked, with Pogba posting a cryptic social media message almost immediately after Man United confirmed the Portuguese’s departure. The post, which was quickly deleted, is understood to have been a pre-scheduled advertisement for adidas, though the photo and accompanying message (Caption this!) raised eyebrows given the alleged breakdown in Mourinho and Pogba’s relationship.
